SBA Ledger

Corrections

SBA Ledger adds up the Small Business Administration's loan files without editorial changes, so most differences between this site and a lender's own records come from the files themselves.

Disputes about the underlying record

Loan status, approval amounts, the lender a loan is assigned to, industry codes and franchise codes are SBA records. A lender that believes SBA's file is wrong should raise it with SBA; the dataset page lists the agency contact. Corrections SBA makes appear here at the first build after SBA publishes them. This site cannot alter an SBA record.

Errors introduced by this site

If a figure here does not match the SBA file it cites (a lender attached to the wrong city, two lenders merged or one split, a county matched to the wrong place, a franchise brand grouped wrongly, a broken comparison), write to the address on the contact page with the page URL and the value you expect. Processing errors are fixed in the code and the site is rebuilt. Target response time: five working days.

How lenders appear

SBA lists each loan under the lender it is assigned to today. After a merger or a portfolio sale, the acquiring lender's page includes the loans it took over, including their outcomes. That is how SBA's file works, not a judgement about either lender, and every lender page says so.

Names of people

The site publishes organisations only and never publishes borrowers. If a person's name appears anywhere, report the URL: the page or row is removed immediately and the filter tightened.
