The median 7(a) approval in FY2021–FY2025 was $190K and the median 504 approval $657K. 7(a) loans can be as large as $5 million.

What share of SBA loans are charged off?

Of 7(a) loans approved in FY2010–FY2021 and disbursed, SBA records 6.6% as charged off; for 504 loans the figure is 1.2%. Loans approved in the last five fiscal years are left out because few have had time to reach an outcome.

Does this site list the businesses that borrowed?

No. The SBA files name each borrower, but those fields are discarded when the files are read. Every figure here is a total for a lender, a place, an industry, a franchise brand or a fiscal year.
